Syringa villosa 'Aurea' (Gold Leaf Villous Lilac) is an upright deciduous shrub featuring bright chartreuse-to-yellow spring foliage and clusters of pale pink, late-season blooms. Growing 6–8 ft tall and wide, this cultivar blooms after the threat of late frosts has passed and offers excellent powdery mildew resistance. It prefers full sun and rich, well-drained soil with more consistent moisture than traditional lilacs. Prune only after flowering to maintain shape and encourage future blooms.
